Jack Maddock

Jack has more than 30 years of experience in the areas of investigation, fraud risk management and anti-corruption.

His journey into professional services is underpinned with a career of over 21 years in the Queensland Police mostly as a Detective and interview trainer. This was followed by what is now known as the National Anti-Corruption Commission where he was a Principal Investigator and Director of Operations. Jack led both national and international joint agency operations targeting organised crime and bribery. His experience included a secondment to a special investigation unit in the Australian Border Force conducting anti-fraud and corruption prevention. Jack spent time as a senior executive level investigator with the federal Department of Agriculture Fisheries and Forestry, many months as Director of the Northeast Region Investigations team.

He has provided integrity solutions to public and private sector organisations including national and international sporting bodies, addressing workplace misconduct, athlete safety and match fixing matters. A certified vocational trainer and assessor, Jack has delivered training to Commonwealth compliance officers and the Northern Australian Quarantine Service in the Torres Strait.

Snapshot of Experience

Successfully identified corrupt practices involving multiple staff within a private sector provider to a Commonwealth border agency, resulting in conviction and dismissal of those involved. Subsequently led the roll-out of sector wide corruption prevention initiatives.

Investigated and reported on multiple misconduct matters across national sporting bodies, delivering outcomes that ensured safety risks were addressed, including the removal of offending officials from the sport.

Investigated a serious sexual harassment complaint made by multiple staff against a senior executive within a major private sector infrastructure agency, resulting in the executive’s immediate suspension and eventual dismissal.

Operational lead on a nine-month review into Queensland Police integrity policies, collaborating closely with the Queensland Department of Premier and Cabinet with all recommendations being endorsed and adopted.

Conducted a compliance practice review of a national invasive species prevention program identifying key vulnerabilities and skill gaps across both compliance and policy units.

Investigated and identified match fixing within a national sporting body, delivering targeted recommendations to strengthen integrity frameworks and prevent future manipulation risks.
